[14.08.29] Royal Pirates Combeack Fullstory - Genie

Q. It’s been a while for RP’s Comeback! Please each give a comment.
M: Hello Genie family~ This is Moon. For the time being, I’ve been able to show you different sides to myself through radio and variety show appearances, but I’m really happy to be having a comeback in August. Though “Love Toxic” we’ll show you a side of us that has fallen for music.
J: Hello, it’s James. I’m really happy to be able to show you a new appearance with new songs. I think I’ll be able to make a lot of good memories with the fans who are giving love to Royal Pirates’ music, so I’m really anticipating it.
S: Hello Genie Family! I’m Sooyoon~ With this comeback I think we’ll be able to show everyone a more carefree and mature appearance, so I’m really anticipating it. I also think this is a great opportunity to let our music be known to a wider public so It gives me a lot of strength.

Q. What is the album and title song Love Toxic about?
This album is composed of song that each member used his feelings to write lyrics to and compose, so it’s an album that expresses the members’ individuality. It tells a story about passionate love, the start of fate, endings, familial love, and various other types. “Haru” and Laws of the City’s signature song, “Seoul Hillbilly” were composed by vocal Moon, and Laws of the Jungle’s signature song, “Betting Everything” was composed by James. The title song “Love Toxic” is a song that Sooyoon composed. It’s a bright and bright song about a sexy and pleasant man’s love story, told with pop-rock elements.

Q. What is a song, other than the title, that RP would recommend?
We’ll recommend the album’s first track, “Haru”. It’s about “thinking of a person so much, time passes without you knowing.” The lyrics do well to portray the nerves that come with starting to love someone for the first time, and that, together with the beautiful string session makes for a song with a pretty feeling. We think a lot of people can relate to it and like it. Especially people whoa re just starting to love! We recommend it.

Q. We heard you went around to five famous spots in Seoul and did buskings recently. It was very well received, so you have any comments on it’s successful end?
We were only scheduled to do five buskings, but we were really worried. Other than the location, time, weather, sound system, environment around the location and various other things, there were a lot of variables we couldn’t predict before hand; We were worried only a dew people would come to see us. But a lot more people than we would have imagined had come, and the locations and weather turned out to be in our favor. Through the buskings we were able to interact with a lot of people, and they got to feel the music up close; It was time well spent, an experience that couldn’t have happened up on a stage. It felt great, being able to feel the love people have for our music. Plus, we got to get a little more intimate with the fans, so we’re really happy.

Q. Recently you’ve been on variety and radio, doing various activities, but are there any other challenges you’d want to take on?
We often think about how we can express the sides of ourselves that we are confident in, and what form it would take. No matter how you look at it, music is one way of expressing that art, and in that context we’ve been given many opportunities, but another way of expressing ourselves would be through acting. However, we first want to focus on being a rock band, to give better music and performances; And, if it’s possible, we want to hold a Royal Pirates concert.

Q. Please tell us about the future of RP promotions.
We anticipate working hard to meet everyone and promote “Love Toxic” through broadcasts, performances, and other medias. Not only in Korea, but we are also preparing to have sales and performances overseas. Royal Pirates’ music is known widely internationally, and we plan to be thorough.

Q. Lastly, please leave a message for the Genie Family.
Thank you for all the love and interest you’ve been giving to us, the Royal Pirates. We’ll work hard to become musicians people can relate to, who make songs that are unique and enjoyable. Please give a lot of love to us, the Royal Pirates and our mini album “Love Toxic”, and definitely to the title song “Love Toxic”! We hope you all fall in love. This has been the Royal Pirates. Thank you!!
