Track 1. Let U Go

Let U Go is the song written shortly before bassist James’ accident. It is the one song on the album that has the most rock elements. The song is an 80′s modern rock style fused with electronic dance, and arranged so that a three member rock band can give a powerful performance. This song may be familiar to most RP fans. In this song, you can hear bassist James’ last bass performance.

Track 2. Too Fast

Too Fast is this album’s double title song, and features 80′s nostalgic elements in a modern new retro wave sound to bring it into 2015. This song is meant to encompass RP’s transition into their new sound. The evening the soundtrack for this song was made was the day James got into his accident, and the next day the members faced shock and psychological difficulties. They used this song to express their dearest thoughts towards one another. The theme of this song is forgiveness and resolution; though it may come on strong for a relationship between man and woman, between the members it illuminates their relationship. For Korean-Americans, they faced and overcame their inability to adapt to the unfamiliar culture of their home country with the passion they held for their music. However as individuals with different upbringings, they also had to overcome their individual shortcomings and mental unease, as well as face the reality they could not escape.

Still, throughout all this, bassist James’ sudden accident was like a great misfortune had come to take everything away from them. Losing the use of his wrist was like losing his alter ego and, unable to hold his bass guitar, James fell into a hellish hopelessness on top of the physical pain he was experiencing. This pain was not only felt by James, but by the other members as well. To the boys who thought of their problems as theirs alone, this posed a common issue that raised awareness of their necessity to think of their future together… Though crisis came to meet them, it became an opportunity for them to dress their long-standing wounds, and before long become a story of acceptance. Though James became unable to play his guitar, he switched to an electric keyboard and this became the turning point in Royal Pirates’ music. This song expresses one’s ability to find hope and friendship in face of sadness; Just like these boys who never lose their smile, the light beat and rhythm keep the song alive.

Track 3. Run Away

Run Away not only represents the unique sound change that musician band RP wants to pursue, but it is also the song that was created after tragedy caused the band to make a new formation. The song is a fresh mix of rock and EDM and has a strong sound made by incorporating Break Beat into this modern rock, enlisting the help of DJ Schedule1′s unique scratch and Enik’s (IAMMEDIC) featuring to make music that is even more powerful and has more of an impact and performance. “Run Away” holds a positive message of overcoming difficulties, and expresses parts of the hard reality that the RP members have lived through. In a reality full of patience and wait, the song carries the Royal Pirates members thoughts that they want to share with the lost and suffering youth of today.

Track 4. U&I

U&I is highly addictive with a catchy melody and pop-rock sound mixed with a funky groove. It’s a song about the relationship between two people, with the themes of fate and destiny. Even despite the big and small conflicts the RP members have had due to their individualized personalities, in the end they still come together and make music in a bond that can only be attributed to fate. The message this song carries is that despite fate or destiny, anything can be done with one’s own strength. It’s a pop song with a melody you may easily find yourself humming. The more you hear it the more you’ll fall in love with this song’s charm.

Track 5. Dangerous

Dangerous is a song that features break beat and electronic elements tinged with authentic American rock elements. After going a long interval without any action, and in face of the member’s injury and frustration, they are put into a dramatic situation!! After all the stress and troubles they’ve faced in that interval, they can now let go of their worries for a while with the sound of this strong beat. By incorporating traditional American rock sound, we hear Moon’s first charming shouting and drummer EXSY’s latent funky Break Beat. This album also features a MIDI instrument in member James’ added electric elements to make it something that is full of RP’s unique color. The strong sound and straightforward lyrics make the song especially impressionable.

Track 6. Without You

Without You is a song written by EXSY, the lyrics of which express his innermost thoughts at his life’s lowest moment. He spent much time bewildered- faced with a hazy future in an unfamiliar society and a quickly changing music industry, his only option was to change. Starting off full of ambition in his early twenties, he soon found himself struggling, hitting the same wall of frustration time and time again. Wanting to rid himself of that reality, he prayed every night. His prayers became the outline of this song. The song features the 808 bass sound often heard in R&B and a lingering guitar solo in the second half that stirs the heart. It’s a mix of R&B and rock that makes a truly unique rock ballad.

The album [3.3] is about overcoming the pain of reality, and with that completely overcoming adversity to be reborn again so that the members can have a prosperous vision of the future. We want to spread the message of hope for everyone.
