[14.03.27] Royal Pirates, First Steps in Japan “Bringing K-Rock to Rock Heaven”
[Sports Hankook | Reporter Lee Jeonghyun] Rock band Royal Pirates have made their first steps into rock heaven, Japan.
After releasing their first Japanese mini album [Shout Out] on the 24th, the Royal Pirates found themselves starting visits for promotions on the 26th. The day after the album was released, it ranked 2nd on Tower Records’ Shibuya store daily comprehensive charts, leading towards much expectation for their future activity.
On the 30th, the Royal Pirates will hold a mini-live event at Tokyo, Shibuya Tower Records and go on a live broadcast. On the 31st they will hold their first solo showcase at the center of Japan’s thriving youth, Harajuku LaForet Hall and meet with Japanese fans and leading music industry insiders.
The company goes on to reveal, “On March 28 and 29, Royal Pirates will perform the opening stage for Lee Minho’s fan-meeting at Japan’s Yokohama National University Hall.” This concert will be the second meeting of Lee Minho and global rookie Royal Pirates, as RP has been gaining a reputation after they had opened for Lee Minho’s encore tour Seoul fan-meet in January.
For their duration in Japan, Royal Pirates will hold their first showcase and start various other promotional activities in what can be called “band heaven” (Japan), making their first steps in the (global) Asian market.
After their return (to Korea) on the 31st, Royal Pirates leader Moon will depart again for New York on April 1st for the filming of SBS “Law of the City”; Much expectation is gearing up for Royal Pirates in light of all their various activities.

[14.02.11] [Interview] Royal Pirates “Not Simply a Flower Boy Band, A Skilled Band”
I
confess I had my doubts about meeting the three member band, but
different from my first thoughts, they were so different. If there’s one
thing I can say it’s that in comparison to their appearances in
pictures, the real thing is way better looking.

[14.01.30] [Blue Interview] Royal Pirates, Dream to be Like Every Band’s Role Model, The Beatles ②
All
the members of Royal Pirates know how to write lyrics and compose. The
members all write songs but as they are a bit lacking in Korean language
skills they receive help writing lyrics. For this “Drawing the Line”
album all members put out ideas and coordinated with a producer. They
revealed that the songs on the album are ones that were written one and a
half years ago. Their goal this year is to release many songs that
they’ve made themselves, saying passionately, “We want to show that
“this is the music we make” and leave our own stamp. By the end of the
year, no matter if it is small, it’s good as long as we can perform.”
