150823 SuKiRa w/ DJ Wook, Royal Pirates, Park Boram - “Weekend”

W: How would you make a perfect end to your week?
M: I want to go to the beach~
S: Maybe the mountains? The valley?
B: I just want to rest at home.

W: Today you can just lie comfortably and listen. Let’s introduce our guests for today. Waking up after having restfully slept-in, I don’t think they would move around all too much, Royal Pirates’ Moon and Sooyoon! Welcome!
M: Hello, I’m Moon!
S: Hello, I’m Sooyoon!
W: On the weekends, I think she’ll go out with her friends- shopping, eating, visiting various places, she’ll be very busy, Boram!
B: Hello, I’m Park Boram.
W: You’re gotten prettier today, too. Like Superman. [Her clothes?]
B: Ah, ha. Yes.
W: How have you been?
B: I‘ve been well.
W: What have you all been doing? I’ve heard that RP has been quite busy lately.
M: We don’t even know what we’ve been doing that’s making us so busy. It seems like we have been, though.
W: I bet you haven’t seen each others’ faces much lately either.
S: We saw each other, recently. The cameo…
M: Oh, yes. Recently we went to a flm a drama cameo together. I don’t think I can say what drama it is yet, though.
W: Of course. We’ll find out eventually.
M: If everyone watches we could get some exposure.
W: You two haven’t fought have you?
M/S: Oh, no. No.
W: Since it’s been a while since you’ve seen each other.
M: No, no. We see each other often.
W: Boram participated in the ISAC, were your results any good?
B: No, I came in last. Probably dead last.
W: It must have been hot.
B: Yes t was extremely hot. f there were at least some air-conditioning…
W: There was no air-con?
B: No, none.
W: But you’ve been exercising so diligently, I thought it would help you…
B: Even so, my speed never got better.
W: With so many groups there it could be… lonely. Since you’re a soloist.
B: Yes, so I hung out with other friends who are also soloists.
W: Who?
B: I was with Rubber Soul’s Choa… and the members of Bestie… Oh! They’re a group!
W: How about any males?
B: None!
W: Was SuJu there?
B: No, there wasn’t anyone.
W: Oh, I guess not…
B: No, actually I think Kangin was there.. for basketball or something?
W: Is that so? We don’t even know about each other. It’s sad but true. But… I think he did post in the group chat-room about it…

W: Earlier when I asked you said you wanted to go to the beach, or the mountains, but why did you say you want to stay at home Boram?
B: I’ve recently had quite a few schedules in Busan..
W: Ah, so you’ve already gone and come back…
B: I have, but it was really… I don’t really like places with a lot of people. There were so many people there.
M: Right, since it’s summer…
B: I really just enjoy staying at home and watching tv.
W: With the air-con on?
B: Yes, eating ice cream…
M: I’m also more of a home-body. If I go out, I’d rather do it early. If it’s after 7pm, going out just seems like a bother. So I just stay at home.
W: What if someone calls you to go out?
M: If there’s something to do, or if I’m bored, I’ll go but if it’s really not urgent, I don’t think I would bother.
W: I guess we’ll all have to go home… To Moon’s home.
M: Oh, please come! My house is really fun!

RP - Feeling Good
M: t’s my first time on here singing with the MR
W: It was nice! Usually there’s the drums behind me, so I block one ear, but really… Whether it’s with the band, or with MR, it’s still very good.
M: Thank you. I thought it was fun.
W: But Sooyoon, aren’t you sad? (that he didn’t get to sing/play)
S: No, I’m… great. (he just gets to sit back and relax)

B: [Listener’s Note] It’s gotten to the point where my friends call me a shut-in, I really love staying at home. Even on the weekends, if my friends ask me out, I find it annoying. I just really enjoy lying still on my bed, without any thoughts in my head. I think that’s the happiest thing in the world. When they see me like this my friends ask “What do you even do at home alone?” “Don’t you feel stuffy, in your house all the time?” But there are so many things I can do: catch up on dramas, eat chicken and drink beer alone, and sleep all day. There’s no such heaven as dong all the things you couldn’t do on normal days on the weekend. Even right now, I’m lying down with my smartphone in hand. There’s no one to judge or nag at me, so this moment is pure bliss.
W: That’s right, all the stories they send in are with smartphones now…
S: How lonely… the 21st century…
W: I think Boram can really relate to this story
B: Yes, I can
M: Me, too
B: Catching up on dramas, eating chi-maek by myself…
W: What do you watch?
B: I’ve really fallen for the Reply series recently… 1994. It’s really fun.
W: There are really so many interesting dramas nowadays
B: Really! I can’t sit there and wait a week for the next episode to come out
M: Yes, as you wait the emotions (you feel while watching) go away
B: So after the drama is over, I just watch it all
S: I also watch a lot of webtoons, movies, and for series- I wait until they’re completed and watch them in one sitting
W: For me, I like documentaries
M: Like, life in the amazon, that sort of thing…?

M: But sometimes those documentaries are really scarier than horror movies are
W: I tend to go for more historical…
[They get back on track talking about the listener’s note, and discuss how comfortable it is just staying at home. Moon says how (in this weather) it’s refreshing to take a shower and just lie down, turn the air-conditioning on and hand a leg off the bed. Haha]

M: [Listener’s Note] I almost had a huge misunderstanding. I was sleeping in but my phone kept ringing. It rang, so in my half-asleep state I picked it up without looking at the caller information. Someone in a agitated voice asked me who I was. I thought they had dialed the wrong number so told her and she replied, “What do you mean the wrong number?! I have proof! Who the heck are you? What are you doing with another person’s husband?!” I didn’t understand, so I asked what the situation was, and who her husband was. I found out that this woman’s husband was the person who I bought a pre-owned camera from, and we had exchanged quite a few calls about it. After this misunderstanding, I thoroughly explained the situation and after a moment of consideration she apologized to me. Although everything ended smoothly, it was a bad start to my weekend, and I spent the rest of it in this bad mood.
M: These things can happen.
W: Has you tried anything like this, with pre-owned items?
M: Not me, but Sooyoon probably has had a lot of these exchanges.
S: For me, I’ve had a few pre-owned instruments, when I’m buying new ones… (he sells the old for a new)
W: I never knew that a fight an arise from such a thing…
S: I‘ve haven’t encountered a fight yet…
W: Some!! (SY misheard “Some” (relationship) for “ssa-um” (fight))
S: Ah, Some!
M: But even so, most people who buy the used goods are like.. ajuhssis, so
S: They’re ajuhssis and hyungs…

W: Did anything ever happen to you?
S: Well, you hear a lot of stories about shady dealings and whatnot but thankfully nothing of the sort has happened to me yet
M: With regards to musicians (trading/vendoring instruments) we tend to greet each other warmly, since we are all music making people.

Boram - I’m Smiling

S: [Listener’s Note] I’ve taken some time off of work to rest. People do their laundry in the day. Isn’t this the norm? But at two or three in the morning, I hear my neighbor’s washing machine “wi ing wi ing” spinning round and around. What is it doing? Bumping and pounding. Everyday, the sound doesn’t end. Not only that, but on the weekends they bring over friends and drink. They’re so noisy I think I’m going to go crazy. I tried looking for the homeowner, but what can I do? I can’t sleep, and this morning I’m so tired I feel like I’m going to faint.
B: My neighbor must be raising a dog… (it’s noisy)
M: If you report it, are there any laws regarding that? In Korea?
W: Well, you have to keep it quiet in any case… whether it’s an animal or appliances…. it’s better to keep them quiet at night.
M: In these cases, people take to venting over the internet, or set out to get revenge by blasting the music or something like that
B: I’ve done that before. Someone kept knocking on the wall. I used to live in an officetel, and someone kept banging on the wall, so I got angry and banged back. It was quiet for about five minutes and then it started up again. We almost had a fight.
W: For me, I would just block my ears. There are earplugs. Just putting them in and sleeping… I think that’d be okay.
B: Isn’t that very frustrating, though?
M: I think it would be best to make a claim (yo-gu), though
W: Not cursing (yok) right?
M: No, no. Please make a claim. (says it in the most formal way possible. LOL) Oh, I almost made a claim into a curse…

B: [Listener’s Note] I’ve had three very good friends since high school. These friends, excluding me, all have boyfriends. When we were in school, we promised to go on a couples trip together when we ever got boyfriends. Since I’ve been single, I haven’t been able to keep the promise. A few days ago my friends cautiously asked me, “Boram-ah, can we… go on a couples trip? I’m really sorry but, if we don’t go now, we won’t be able to.” [M: How sad!] I felt sorry that my friends had to ask for permission before they went, so I told them it was okay. Last weekend they went on their couples trip. Actually, I wanted to go with them but I thought going along wouldn’t be too good. After seeing all the pictures they kept sending me, I felt a little sad. I wondered what I was doing. Even though I’m living a pitiful solo life, by next year I will definitely get a boyfriend and go on the couples trip! At that time, I’ll definitely send in another note, so please wait for me~
B: This is like me.
W: A couples trip… have any of you ever been on one? If you have ok, if you haven’t, there’s no need to say it out loud. But I think a lot of people have been on one.
B: I think a lot of people have been going on them recently
M: It’s nice to gather people together and go on a trip
S: But also, if you go together, there’s the possibility of getting into a lover’s spat
W: But if your friends come up to you and ask, “Can… Can I go?” what can you really do??
M: She’s been solo for five years…
W: I think it would be better not to ask and just leave
M: There’s that, but these friends wanted to upload it to their SNS…
B: They were afraid she would be sad
M: Yes, so they asked for permission to go first. If you didn’t know and suddenly saw the pictures, wouldn’t you feel really betrayed?
W: Well, in that case you can get mad, but in this case you can’t even get mad about it. It’s something that makes you really sorry…
M: Even so, this person is a very positive person. Rather than resenting her friends, she said she would get a boyfriend and go on the next trip.
S: You can just get one and go
M: That’s right~

Boram - Come Back Home (2NE1)
W:That was very good.
B: Really? Oh~
W: The guitar accompaniment… Oh! You could have asked Sooyoon to play for you.
B: Oh! I should have.
S: True. I really thought someone was playing it though. The track was so well made.
W: Who made this track?
B: I just found it online. :P

M: [Listener’s Note] Last April was the time for exams so I went with my friend to study in the library. Under the stress of all the studying I suddenly had a thought and turned to my friend and said, “Let’s go to Busan.” So we did. We got on the train and all thoughts of studying and grievances went away. After coming back, our scores were a little low, but I don’t regret my decision. If I can return to that time, I would still make the same decision. It has become one of my life’s greatest memories. On the weekends, I think about going again and I miss it.
W: Wow, how nice, Busan.
S: It’s really cool
W: I really want to go
M: Since it’s summer, you should go
W: Should we go? Right now?
M: Let’s go?
B: I have a schedule tomorrow…
M: Just take up bravery right now, and just once let it go
W: You’re not matching our mood, here! Let’s go, like this~~
W: “I can’t” | M: “I have something to do” “I’m tired” | S: “My head hurts”
W: “Let’s go eat some late night snacks!”
W: “I‘ll get fat”
W: “Well! Don’t eat then!”| M: “Would you be quiet!”
W: But sometimes, it’s nice to do this. Release some stress.
M: This is why I think weekends exist. If you’re working for seven days a week, how much stress do you receive? Even if it’s not very special, the fact that we have weekends itself is nice.
W: Truthfully, there are some people who do work seven days a week. Our managers are like that. There are a lot of people like that, but every once in a while I think it’d be nice to go to Buan or somewhere close for some healing. I.. I feel like having sashimi.
M: Oh… today, let’s…
B: I have something to do. :P

S: [Listener’s Note] It’s my first job, and thankfully there’s a supervisor unnie. I’ve just been doing as she says, but this unnie is really passionate! This unnie is used to doing things by herself, and has a lot of overtime. As the newbie, I didn’t say anything and just waited with her until it was time to leave. However, what I really can’t overlook is the fact that she uses her weekends to do work, too! These are things that can be done on Mnday, why does she have to use her days off to work? I know it’s important to work and all but personally, I think having a personal life is more important.
S: How tiring.
B: I wouldn’t be able to do it. I would quit.
W: It could be extremely frustrating.
M: From the company’s point of view, new hires usually come in occasionally. But they tend to go by the cues of their seniors, so even when there’s no work to be done, they stay around.
W: I think they’re all pretty much like that. [Cultural Values and all that.] You need to do as your seniors are, and even if they tell you that you can leave, it’s difficult to do even that.
[They discuss the scenario of if you had a prior engagement, would you stay behind or would you tell your senior? Boram says she would tell her senior about it. In that case, if your senior is telling you to go, while they stay behind, would you leave or stay? Boram says she would just leave. LOL.]

M: Sooyoon’s specially going to be playing the guitar today
S: For the sake of Ryeowook’s ears, today I’ll be playing the guitar
W: It’s my first time seeing you sit there. Usually you’re behind me
S: It’s great sitting here. I can even look you in the eye and talk~
[RP - Let’s Meet on Friday]
W: That’s a new way of hearing it. It’s actually a little… risque, the way Moon sang it.
M: Oh, is it? Did I make it sexy?
B: LOL
W: It was sexy. What do you think, Boram?
B: I think his voice is originally just sexy to begin with. Even when he speaks.
W: All the songs they prepared today have that feeling to them
M: The weekends are the time to be bold!

B: [Listener’s Note] I find the weekends rather irritating. My friends think of my house as their own and come in whenever they want. I also want to rest a little, on the weekends, but they really just come whenever. Truthfully, when you come to someone’s house, isn’t it customary to bring something? But these jerks go so far as to look through my refrigerator and ask /me/ if there’s anything to eat, and they eat it. They’re my friends but they have no consideration. What’s more, if I happen to go to their house, they ask me not to come! This weekend, if they come knocking, I don’t think I’ll open the door.
B: One of my current friends is like this.
M: Do you have the same sentiments?
B: If I’m in the shower, she’ll even ask me what my password is. Now she comes in any time she wants.
W: Then you should change it!
B: Oh, but I.. I don’t know how to change it.
M: Doesn’t it tell you how, if you open the keypad..?
W: What happens if something goes missing someday?
B: But she’s a really close friend!
W: Even if she’s a close friend, you can still be suspicious. Boram and I are a little alike, if something goes missing, we think it’s our own fault, and that we must have misplaced it. But there’s also the possibility of suspecting a friend. I really hate that feeling. If something goes missing, I just consider that I lost it.
B: I guess I will have to change it…
W: But what she do, when that friend comes?
B: She…
W: Sleeps and leaves?
B: She cleans my house for me. She’s a really good friend.
S: Has anything ever gone missing while she’s cleaned your house? XD
W: Sometimes you just don’t know where you put things
M: That’s right. When I’m cleaning sometimes I find something I thought I lost a long time ago, and I’m glad to see it.

S: [Listener’s Note] On the weekends, I’m even more tired than I am during the week. That’s because of my cousin’s second daughter. On weekdays I see her at breakfast and then leave, but on the weekends she’s stuck to me all day, so my energy levels are quickly depleted. Usually I’m bright and friendly, but thee days I’m irritated at the slightest things. I don’t know when it started, but I’ve been living nervously. When will this time pass? That daughter is coming again this weekend, I’m afraid.
W: I think we all get like this at times, right Moon?
M: Right. When I’m in a really bad mood. When I hear nagging, even if I hear nice words.
W: It all just sounds like nagging. “Alright, I’ll take care of it~” It’s understandable, if they’re together every weekend. How about you, Boram? Do you live alone?
B: Yes, I live alone.
W: There are times you can be lonely, though.
B: I used to really hate people nagging at me. But these days, I want to hear it.
W: For me, I’ll still hate it. LOL
M: You hate to hear it, but you’ve become more mature at reacting to it. You just say, “Okay, Okay” and let it go. I used to get really annoyed.
W: No matter what you’re being nagged for, you have to give a generic reply. Like “Yes, Yes” “Okay” It’s like a broadcast reply (out of politeness only)
