[14.03.27] Royal Pirates, First Steps in Japan “Bringing K-Rock to Rock Heaven”

[Sports Hankook | Reporter Lee Jeonghyun] Rock band Royal Pirates have made their first steps into rock heaven, Japan.

After releasing their first Japanese mini album [Shout Out] on the 24th, the Royal Pirates found themselves starting visits for promotions on the 26th. The day after the album was released, it ranked 2nd on Tower Records’ Shibuya store daily comprehensive charts, leading towards much expectation for their future activity.

On the 30th, the Royal Pirates will hold a mini-live event at Tokyo, Shibuya Tower Records and go on a live broadcast. On the 31st they will hold their first solo showcase at the center of Japan’s thriving youth, Harajuku LaForet Hall and meet with Japanese fans and leading music industry insiders.

Their company, Apple of the Eye, states, “As a rock band Royal Pirates will go beyond the existing K-pop in the Japanese music market, you can expect to see different charms and appeals,” conveying, “Using existing large scale promotional methods and keeping different strategies in mind, they will start the challenge of becoming pioneers in the Japanese music market to create a new success story.”

 The company goes on to reveal, “On March 28 and 29, Royal Pirates will perform the opening stage for Lee Minho’s fan-meeting at Japan’s Yokohama National University Hall.” This concert will be the second meeting of Lee Minho and global rookie Royal Pirates, as RP has been gaining a reputation after they had opened for Lee Minho’s encore tour Seoul fan-meet in January.

For their duration in Japan, Royal Pirates will hold their first showcase and start various other promotional activities in what can be called “band heaven” (Japan), making their first steps in the (global) Asian market.

After their return (to Korea) on the 31st, Royal Pirates leader Moon will depart again for New York on April 1st for the filming of SBS “Law of the City”; Much expectation is gearing up for Royal Pirates in light of all their various activities.
