Rock band Royal Pirates (RP) has made their drama debut on SBS’s newest Wed-Thu drama “Tantara (Entertainer).”
On April 21, Royal Pirates’ agency Apple of the Eye revealed, “Royal Pirates will be making a special appearance on episode two of the new Wed-Thu drama that will begin to air today on SBS- “Tantara”
On this day the Royal Pirates appearedas senior band members in drama lead Haneul’s (Kang Minhyuk) recollection of the time before he was picked up by Shin Seokho (Jisung), when he played music freely.
Although Royal Pirates’ Moon Kim and EXSY’s stint as seniors who gave Kang Minhyuk influence was short, they played a critical role in setting the flow of the drama and highlighting the character of Haneul.
Easily accommodating to on-site Director Hong Sungchang’s directions to show a natural senior-junior relationship, director and writers alike sang praises to their acting skills.
In a meeting of two skilled bands, Kang Minhyuk and Royal Pirates came on scene without any prior rehearsals and still boasted a fantastic collaboration while playing American band Terra Terra Terra’s “Burn” live, treating all the staff to a show.
Royal Pirates’ appearance was accomplished with the help of the extremely favorable and kind Director Hong Sungchang’s love-call.
Agency reps commented, “With this special appearance, it will be the first time the Royal Pirates have greeted their audience through normal broadcasting. With a drama that has garnered so much interest, we were thrilled to be able to participate and show off RP’s appearance as a band. If there are more opportunities in the future, we definitely expect to show more of their acting, so please anticipate it.”
With their music and visuals, along with their skills, the Royal Pirates received a hot response from music charts in America and overseas with the release of their mini album “3.3″ in 2015. They are emerging as the next up and coming global rock band.
On the 23rd, the Royal Pirates will take part in the Hana Tour at V Hall in Seoul for the “Rockstar Concert RE-BOOT”, rubbing shoulders and showing off their rock spirit along with industry seniors YB, No Brain, and Pia, among others.
